Airport Information You will fly into PDX, aka Portland International Airport. A modern, clean and well designed airport, PDX offers many amenities including free Wifi, a nice selection of northwest food and beverage options, and even it’s own satellite Powell’s Books store!
Hotels We recommend the Hotel deLuxe. Right down the street from Hinge Digital, it’s an easy walk to the studio or downtown, and a pleasant place to stay. There are plenty of other great hotels in the area, including Ace Hotel, Hotel Lucia and Inn at Northrup Station.
NW Portland/Pearl District In our neighborhood, we like to wander down the street for a latte and a french macaron from Ken’s Artisan Bakery, or over to Salt and Straw to get a gourmet ice cream cone. And food carts, including KOi Fusion PDX. So many options!

From wine tasting, day hikes in the Columbia River Gorge, skiing on Mount Hood, or walking on the picturesque beaches of the northwest coastline, Oregon has something for everyone.
go wine tasting! Oregon has been rated as having one of the top 3 wine country areas in the US. Newberg and Dundee are the closest to Portland, which is probably the most doable for a half day trip. They have quite a few wineries in the area. Tours and car services are available.
head to the mountains! Drive up Mount Hood to Timberline Lodge near the top of the mountain, in about 1 hour 35 minutes from your hotel. It’s a stunning drive up the mountain for sure.
drive to the oregon coast! Cannon Beach is a nice hour and a half drive over the mountains from Portland. The coastline is spectacular, and we recommend the Wayfarer Restaurant which is right by Haystack Rock. Manzanita is a cute little down about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Portland, just a little further down the coast from Cannon Beach, with a great beach and some cute shops and restaurants.
With unique shopping & entertainment options, including film, music & brewer’s festivals, theater and live radio shows, Portland always has something going on. Check out PDXPipeline, OregonLive, Design Sponge and Travel & Leisure for more information about exploring Portland’s neighborhoods.
